Blockchain.com hides my BTC on a legacy wallet – funds visible on-chain but not spendable

I’d like to share my recent experience with Blockchain.com, because it is very similar to other reports I’ve found (for example this blog post: “I almost lost my Bitcoin wallet because of Blockchain.com” ).giuliomagnificoJ-ai-failli-perdre-mon-portefeuille-Bitcoin-a-cause-de-Blockchain.com-_-etcetera.pdf

  • I have a legacy Bitcoin address 151qbpcxq7VCtNC7TUmyzF1c9fU5qdVFNA that I have been using since 2016.
  • This address is clearly shown on Blockchain.com’s own explorer with a current balance of 0.01951587 BTC, and the payout transaction from 20 May 2026 (bb141aea5f72a19a7d64db3a5f9be9031d73bc7d2eb05067b28fc8170c591dc8) is fully confirmed on-chain.Peuves.jpg+1
  • The same address successfully received payouts from my provider Smart IT in 2021 and April 2024, which appeared correctly in my Blockchain.com wallet and were spendable without any issue.image.jpg+1

In the current mobile app:

  • Under the Bitcoin section, the sub‑wallet called “My Bitcoin Wallet 2” shows exactly those 0.0195 BTC and even the outgoing transactions I made in 2024 and 2026 (“Envoyé BTC” history is visible).image-2.jpg
  • On the global “Wallet” tab, the CHF value of these BTC is included in my total balance (around 1 000 CHF).LEGACY-2.jpg

However, when I tap Send:

  • The send screen only offers two empty accounts as sources: “Trading account” and “My Bitcoin Wallet”, both at 0 BTC.image.jpg
  • “My Bitcoin Wallet 2” – the one that actually holds the coins – does not appear at all as a sending source.
  • As a result, I have a wallet that is fully recognized (balance and history), but the new UI simply refuses to let me send or withdraw anything from it.

I tried to restore my 12‑word recovery phrase in Electrum with BIP39 and Legacy (p2pkh) derivation:

  • Electrum correctly derives a set of addresses, but it does not derive 151qbpcxq7VCtNC7TUmyzF1c9fU5qdVFNA.
  • This strongly suggests that this address is part of an imported / private key wallet (“My Bitcoin Wallet 2”) that is not covered by the standard BIP39 seed, exactly as described in other reports about Blockchain.com’s legacy/imported wallets.blockchain+1

I contacted Blockchain.com support with:

  • the address,
  • the txid,
  • explorer screenshots,
  • app screenshots showing the balance and the broken Send flow.

After a few generic replies, they have now been silent for more than a week, with no technical explanation and no solution.

So, to summarise:

  • My BTC are clearly on-chain at a valid legacy address, confirmed by Blockchain.com’s own explorer.
  • The mobile app sees the balance and full history in “My Bitcoin Wallet 2”.
  • But the new interface does not allow sending from that wallet nor exporting the private key, effectively trapping the funds behind their UI.
  • Other users have documented similar issues after Blockchain.com’s login/wallet changes (e.g. the user who had to find a hidden link to the old login page to recover his wallet).J-ai-failli-perdre-mon-portefeuille-Bitcoin-a-cause-de-Blockchain.com-_-etcetera.pdfrewallet

I’m posting this to:

  1. Warn others who still keep funds on legacy or imported wallets in Blockchain.com.
  2. Ask if anyone has successfully recovered a similar “hidden” legacy / imported wallet (e.g. by exporting the private key or using an older version of the interface).
  3. Put public pressure on Blockchain.com to acknowledge and fix this bug, or at least provide a way to export the private key of affected wallets.

Any concrete technical advice or shared experience would be greatly appreciated.
